Wine country: Sula & York
Nashik makes most of India’s wine, and a vineyard visit is the easiest way to spend a Nashik afternoon. Sula Vineyards runs regular tours and tastings and gets busy on weekends; York Winery nearby is quieter with good valley views. Book tastings ahead in the harvest season.
Temples: Trimbakeshwar & Panchavati
Trimbakeshwar, about 30 km from the city, is one of the twelve jyotirlinga shrines and the source of the Godavari. In Nashik itself, Panchavati and the Ramkund ghats on the river are the old pilgrimage heart of the town.
Caves and hills: Pandavleni & Sapta Shrungi
The Pandavleni Caves are a set of 2,000-year-old Buddhist rock-cut caves on a hill at the edge of the city, with a short climb and wide views. Sapta Shrungi, a hill-top goddess temple about 60 km away, is a longer but rewarding trip.

October to March is pleasant and dry. The monsoon (June–September) is green and good for the surrounding hills, and the grape-harvest season around January–February is popular at the wineries.
